Regional Procurement Middle East

Trucking services whether it be for empty positioning or providing Carrier Haulage solutions to our customer network, forms an integral part of our business model. The Carrier Haulage segment is a fast growing business segment within Hapag-Lloyd and we are looking to partner with services providers who can provide tailor made solutions to our customers. If you are a transporter providing either third party trucking services or are a Depot/ICD/CFS provider who provides truck transportation as part of your service offering we are interested to hear from you and how you can support Hapag-Lloyd in our growth ambitions. 

Third Party Ocean Carrier Services (Feedering) is a large part of our portfolio within Region Middle East, and is key to providing an expanded network to our customers. We actively engage in Barging activities primarily in Bangladesh and Nigeria to serve the inland waterways and provide connectivity to our inland depots and terminals for mainline connections. If you are a vessel or barge operator currently operating or looking at investing in products to provide such services within Region Middle East, please contact our Regional Feeder Procurement Team.

Rail Transportation services are utilized in a number of key markets within our network such as India, Bangladesh, Kenya and South Africa. This is fast becoming a more cost effective and environmentally conscious mode of transport through easing of road congestion and a lesser carbon footprint. Within Region Middle East, transportation by rail is quickly becoming an important leg in our First and Last Mile service offerings. If you are an existing train operator or looking at investing in locomotives or rakes and seeking an organization to partner with we would like to hear from you and identify ways in which we can partner.

It is imperative to ensure Hapag-Lloyd has inland connectively to Empty Depots, Inland Container Depots and Container Freight Stations to allow for equipment triangulation, First and Last Mile delivery and Stuffing and De-stuffing services to our customers. We are constantly seeking out service providers who can assist us in providing these solutions in an efficient, digitized and seamless process. With Region Middle East, Hapag-Lloyd operates ocean services in terminals and ports across Africa, Middle East and India Subcontinent. We proactively engage is Terminal Partnering programs with Terminal and Port service providers to collaboratively find improvement measures and enhance overall performance levels. Added to this we are constantly identifying potentially new markets and alternative gateways. Within this segment we employ the services of third party Husbandry and Survey providers to offer efficient and cost effective solutions to our vessels and equipment.
